The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means Foundation (I.D.P.) convened its 1/2026 board meeting at Riverine Place in Nonthaburi. Chaired by Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong, President of the Foundation, and attended by a panel of distinguished board members, the meeting focused on outlining strategic directions and upcoming operational milestones for the organization.
During the session, the I.D.P. Foundation established a clear framework to expand its proactive role in peaceful conflict management. Key initiatives aimed at driving this mission forward include:
- Elevating Dispute Mediation with the Royal Thai Police: The Foundation has coordinated with the Institute of Inquiry, Royal Thai Police, to facilitate the registration of its board members and advisors as certified “Mediators” under the Dispute Mediation Act, B.E. 2562 (2019). This initiative empowers the Foundation’s experts to utilize their extensive knowledge and experience to directly assist the public and promote alternative justice processes across society.
- Supporting the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office (OPM): Recognizing the Foundation’s expertise, the OPM has invited the I.D.P. Foundation to serve as facilitators for the “Restorative Circles” process. This collaboration is part of the OPM’s fiscal year 2026 initiative in Rayong Province, which aims to foster public participation and build stronger, more collaborative relationships with service recipients.
- Appointing Advisors and Subcommittees to Boost Operational Capacity: To effectively manage its expanding administrative and operational scope, the board passed a resolution to appoint an advisory committee, led by Dr. Bunphot Thontiravong as Chief Advisor. Furthermore, the “Subcommittee on Conflict Management by Peaceful Means” and the “Subcommittee on Corporate Communications” were officially established. These additions are designed to maximize operational efficiency and ensure broader, more comprehensive public outreach.

In addition to these strategic developments, Mr. Tewan Uthaiwat, an I.D.P. board member, contributed a personal donation of 30,000 THB to support the Foundation’s daily operations through the purchase of essential IT equipment, including a computer and a document scanner.
The I.D.P. Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to raising public awareness, supporting alternative justice mechanisms, and actively contributing to the cultivation of a peaceful and harmonious society in Thailand.
