The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means Foundation (I.D.P.), led by Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong, was recently invited by Dr. Ngamprawan A-samnuk, Dean of the School of Law and Politics at Suan Dusit University, to engage in a pivotal meeting aimed at establishing a major academic collaboration. The foundation’s executive management team was in full attendance, including Dr. Suthada Mekhawongsakul (Foundation Advisor), Dr. Thanak Utakapan (Foundation Managing Director), and Mr. Buranahus Chuayraksa (Foundation Secretary-General).

The primary objective of this virtual conference was to collectively formulate a framework for the “Advanced Mediation Skills Training Course,” with an initial target to jointly host the program this upcoming July 2026.

A key highlight of the curriculum is its tailored design as an “upskilling” platform. The program is specifically targeted at mediators under the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice, as well as individuals who have previously completed the foundational mediation training in accordance with the Dispute Mediation Act, B.E. 2562 (2019).

What sets this Advanced course apart is its definitive shift beyond basic theory, placing a rigorous emphasis on “practical training.” The curriculum takes a deep dive into the 5 essential stages of dispute mediation to instill absolute confidence in practitioners. This approach ensures they can facilitate mediations with optimal efficiency, further polishing and elevating every participant into a true “professional mediator.”
