No. 11/2026 — I.D.P. Holds 2026 Extraordinary General Meeting, Elects New Board of Directors, and Advances Mission of Peaceful Conflict Management

The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means Foundation (I.D.P.) held its 2026 Extraordinary General Meeting at Riverine Place. A central agenda item for this assembly was the election of a new Board of Directors, following the expiration of the previous board’s term.

The foundation’s committee proposed Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong to serve as the Chairperson, along with 13 additional individuals, officially forming a 14-member Board of Directors. The complete list of the newly elected board members is as follows:

To effectively drive the foundation’s mission forward, the meeting approved the appointment of committee members to key executive positions. These notably include four Vice Chairpersons:

  • Mr. Sorod Torattanavattana – Vice Chairperson for Special Affairs
  • Mrs. Pirom Sriprasert – Vice Chairperson for Academic and Legal Affairs
  • Mr. Yuthana Phanumaphorn – Vice Chairperson for Administration
  • Dr. rer. pol. Sorayod Kumbunlue – Vice Chairperson for Foreign Affairs and Sustainable Development

Furthermore, other crucial leadership roles were assigned, appointing:

  • Mrs. Pakpimol Nirundorn as Treasurer
  • Mr. Bunhut Chuayraksa as Secretary-General
  • Dr.-Ing. Thanak Utakapan as Foundation Director.

Regarding operational matters, the board acknowledged the outcomes of its educational programs, lectures, and training sessions conducted between November 2025 and March 2026. The meeting also reviewed the foundation’s financial status, resolved to establish a task force to manage accounting documents for the auditor, and agreed to renew the contract with the current auditor to ensure operational continuity.

The funding committee approved a comprehensive initiative to strengthen mediation services, including the publication of 1,000 copies of a mediation handbook. The plan also encompasses the expansion of dispute mediation across multiple dimensions, alongside the organization of training programs and capacity-building initiatives for mediators. Notably, the program aims to enhance professional standards by linking domestic training curricula with international frameworks and expertise.

The I.D.P. Board of Directors is scheduled to convene next on April 25, 2026, to monitor operational progress.

Following the formal proceedings, the committee and attendees participated in a traditional water-pouring ceremony (Rod Nam Dum Hua) to seek blessings from Chairperson Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong in celebration of the 2026 Songkran Festival. The ceremony fostered a warm atmosphere that highlighted the deep respect and strong camaraderie among the organization’s personnel while preserving Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
