The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means (I.D.P. Foundation), under the guidance of Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong—project advisor, course lecturer, and former United Nations human rights officer—hosted a special lecture on the topic “Restorative Justice (RJ)” at King Prajadhipok’s Institute.

The session featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Ukrist Sornprom, an expert from the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ). It was held for students of the 15th Cohort of the Advanced Certificate Program in Peaceful Society Building (4S Program), Consensus Group.

The lecture emphasized the core principles of Restorative Justice within the context of Thailand’s justice system and explored practical applications at both the individual and community levels to promote reconciliation, restore relationships, and foster long-term peace.

A major highlight of the event was the introduction of a board game-based learning technique, marking the first time that TIJ employed this method with external participants. This innovative approach facilitated active participation and deepened the learners’ understanding of RJ through experiential learning.

The event reflects the strong commitment of both the I.D.P. Foundation and TIJ to empowering participants and advancing the practical implementation of Restorative Justice in Thai society.
